The idea
It began with a single idea I wanted the work to stand on: that I am led, and that the guidance I offer others is downstream of being guided myself. Not a slogan — a starting point.

The language
In Biblical Hebrew, that idea lives in one root: נחה, nachah — “to lead, to guide.” It is the verb behind Exodus 13:21, where the LORD goes before the people to lead them, and behind the prayer of Psalm 5:8, “guide me.”

The prayer
Inflected, the same root becomes a prayer: yancheni — “He will guide me.” It is a small word carrying a large trust — that the leading is not mine to manufacture, only to follow.
